| Do you sell oil to Ergon? If so, would you like to hedge against a decline in the average price you will be paid? You can enter into a "swap agreement" to hedge the price of oil on the day-of-shipment as against the average price you will be paid at the end of the month. If the per-barrel price you are paid at the end of the month, is lower then the posted price on the day of shipment, the "swap" pays you the difference. However, if the month-end average price per barrel is higher than the price posted on the day of shipment, then the swap does not pay the difference. |
